Matthew Collins is a Reference, Instruction, and Zine Librarian for the University of San Francisco, Gleeson Library. He is the liaison for Communication Studies, Philosophy, Theology and Religious Studies, Latin American Studies, and to the Fromm Institute for Lifelong Learning. Matthew is the faculty advisor to the Anime, Culture, and Video game Club on campus, and is currently participating in a Faculty Learning Community on the experience of first-generation students. He has been on the steering Committee for the California Conference on Library Instruction since 2015 and is the current chair of the committee. He has traveled with the circus, carved 2,000-pound blocks of ice in Alaska and won awards for his culinary skill with SPAM.
